Xenoblade actually gives you a map of all the NPCs you meet that gradually fills out as you make choices and build (or break) relationships between people. It is similar in that it has a really detailed world with NPCs that have little mini-storylines. You might like Xenoblade if you liked the Trails games. Seconding Tears to Tiara 2 for sure-very similar experience to Utawarerumono. Does anyone know of other games that offer a similar experience to Utawarerumono? The scene select and music player are very nice bonuses. I especially enjoyed Spoiler I also really enjoyed the music in these games. I found the ending to be bittersweet but very satisfying.īoth games had some very humorous parts. The game had me worried that it would end right after the war but it just kept going.and going. Spoiler and all the problems it causes him, Kuon, Nekone, and other characters was handled in a very believable way. Being able to read what the characters are thinking adds a lot to the story. I noticed the game goes into much more detail than the anime and some of the story is different. Mask of Deception was a lot of fun but the story was spoiled because I already saw the anime. I watched the original Utawarerumono anime before jumping into the PS4 remakes. I'm also a fan of the Trails games and saw people recommend Utawarerumono so I decided to give the games a shot even though I'm not a fan of visual novel games. I was introduced to Utawarerumono with the false faces anime which I enjoyed but didn't know was adapted from a game at the time.
